With a confident come back FC Goa won against Delhi Dynamos with 3-0 in the return leg of semi-final in Margao on Tuesday to step their foots in the final of the Indian Super League (ISL). With a failed effort at the later part made the FC Goa to try hard in the second leg.
FC Goa made better goal average of 3-1 in two legged semi-final. FC Goa last the first leg with a single goal, Zico’s side started the game with all their efforts against Robert Carlos’s side.
Joffre and Rafael Coelho hit the goals in 11th and 27th respectively. While in the second half Dudu Omagbemi’s opportunistic knock in 84th minute was like the final hit to the opportunities of Robin Singh and his team. This goal sets up the confidence in the players as they are on their way to finals.
Huge support from around 30,000 people in Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, FC Goa needed one goal to make it tie-breaker and two goals to win the game with in 90 minutes. This made the position Delhi Dynamos FC even worse. Splendidly FC Goa had gone above the par and scored a goal in extra and a tremendous way to spot in finals of ISL.
Goa hit the first goal in the 11th minute by Joffre after receiving a pass from Pronay Halder ran down to the extreme right beating the left defender Robert. John Arn Riise not in his position, he set free to hit the net gone pass by goalkeeper Antonio Doblas to a goal.
Adding to that Rafael Coelho, who received a loose shot from Bikramjit Singh and the right footer hit it from the edge of the box which passed over the wide spread hands of Doblas to hit the right vertical first then the net. This made the work for Dynamos even hard towards the game.
In a position of 0-2 for Delhi it is always a comeback game but their keen player Giovani Dos Santos not in his rhythm and Robin Singh being not fed up with the moves to achieve, it was an unachievable task for Delhi Dynamos FC.
It ended in 84th minute by a surprising movement. A ball passed from left side when Doblas is out of his movement and defenders standing crowded nearby near at one place. Romeo Fernandes clearly passed a pull back towards Dudu Omagbemi and he finished the goal and knocked Delhi Dynamos to home from the league. As a result FC Goa will be in the finals to play with the winner of other semi-finalists war.
